Ours is the era of inadequate AI alignment theory. Any other facts about this era are relatively unimportant, but sometimes I tweet about them anyway.

Someone is (FINALLY) trying to test Seth Roberts's set-point diet with a controlled experiment (though it's not blindable for obvious reasons). Sign up here if you're interested:https://www.plankify.com/satbasic

If this is true, then wouldn’t people whose taste buds don’t work be skinnier on average?

What's different about this than the self-reported forum posts / data? Intuitively it seems to work due to 'ritual.' Taking a mouthful of oil and putting a clothes pin on nose is probably more significant than counting calories. I would like a control with vodka instead of oil.

I've tested Guyenet's ideas more than Seth's. I'm very convinced they are both onto something -- at least wrt explaining how we get fat, though the jury is still out wrt losing fat and staying lean in the long term once already fat. N>1 will be good ;)

Can you point me to Guyenet's ideas ?
