Lesson two is that reductionism past the kindergarten level of theological debate is not about whether things are reducible, it's about whether a particular reduction is complete and correct in detail. "It's made of causality!" doesn't let me discard my high-level concepts.

@SamHarrisOrg seems to disagree in the specific case of the self. He says discarding that concept (temporarily) has definite value and I'd like to hear him try to convince you.
