A great thing about science is it may not be as effective when you bring your biases and goals into it but it will still be effective so long as the method is followed because the method itself includes steps to neutralize your biases and goals.

Let's say you study global warming, find: the main cause is human activity, and governments are not doing enough to preserve climate and human life for another century. You tell them, they ignore you: not good for economy or votes. Can you then criticise them as "irresponsible"?
