Ours is the era of inadequate AI alignment theory. Any other facts about this era are relatively unimportant, but sometimes I tweet about them anyway.

I'm glad i'm not the only one that sometimes changes what I want to say halfway through writing a sentence.

Or maybe it was just a trick to confuse the AI...

But a general AI needs to be able to handle that, because people do change sentences halfway through.

Recognize a cartoon rhino from a new pose, viewpoint, and artist when it has only seen one photo of a rhino ever. 2-year olds can do this.

Can they? I remember being a little unclear on the hippo/rhino dichotomy around age 3.

Not all two-year-olds. There exists at least two two-year-olds who can do this.

9-1 odds are a lot. I'm very uncertain about AI progress. Google recently cracked Winograd schemas, and I thought those were a ways out.
