Tipping makes Uber drivers better off because every time somebody tips them a dollar, they get another dollar. Agree/disagree?
As opposed to what, there being more driver-hours sold than hours bought? A supply-demand-equilibrating price isn't exactly optional.

Do consumers respond to tips like they would a price increase? (empirical question). If not, total prices (price + tip) end up higher.

Couldn't Uber just pay more but prevent them from driving more by not giving them passengers past some point? Not that it would, but could?
