It totally matters- the scale is everything. Moreover, small gestures that get people into a conservation-mindset help enact bigger changes.

No, I mean those numbers are made up and way off. The Sun dissipates a billion billion 2-minute hot showers per second or thereabouts.

Even if that were true, it rests on the assumption that there is no reason to conserve now in order to stall for future energy breakthroughs
