    New research using & data revealed cosmic ray particles boosted to extremely high energies in the stellar winds of Eta Carinae, a binary system of massive stars only 7500 light years away from us 💫💫 Details ⬇️

    Cosmic ray particles don’t travel straight to Earth, so when we catch one, we can’t tell exactly where it came from! But data from and satellites suggest some could be coming from the massive star system Eta Carinae:

    Hard to make these beautiful images up: this is the Volga River delta near Astrakhan before spilling into the Caspian Sea. This is Europe's largest river delta. I took some liberty with color editing but the image is beautiful from .
