Remember during the lockdowns when the BBC offered the biggest educational programme in its history? It ensured that even children who couldn’t access the internet could view curriculum-based programmes. It wasn’t commercially viable, it was extraordinarily valuable.

When the house next door to her was sold, my wonderful mother-in-law gave a list of recommended builders, plumbers, electricians, roofers and other essential people from her 20years in the area to her new neighbours. Let’s all do this and hope it becomes a thing!

If we switched to renewable energy, the number of ships crossing the ocean would fall almost in half. Because they're just carrying coal and oil and gas

If anyone else is finding it hard to switch on this year I can strongly recommend digging out old playlists that you made for yourself, lovers and friends and taking a walk… 2006 you might have some inspiration!

Might be a good time to remind everyone that the person who kind of invented health/biostatistics and data visualisation, and the OG “data lad” was in fact… Florence Nightingale

Feeling for the Analysts who are crunching the data to work out the efficiency of the vaccines…. Such a pick n’ mix of options… (Astra Zeneca + moderna booster or AZ with Pfizer or Pfizer with moderna or Pfizer and Pfizer) plus all the other factors (age, health conditions…)😬

“If you’re over 40 you can now get your booster jab 3 months after your second dose of vaccine. Please book today and the NHS will look after you. I’m sorry a member of the government isn’t here to tell you this. They’re hiding.”

And the loveliest bit is when they’ve transcribed ‘(laughs)’. She sadly died not long after this interview, and to ‘hear’ her laugh at the thought of a bullet going off, as well as the joy of her family captures her positivity perfectly.

Reading a transcript from over 30years ago from ⁦⁦⁩ of an interview of my grandma about her work in the munitions factory in WW2. It is just lovely, and so grateful to the researchers for sharing it with her. Such good practice for qualitative research ❤️

So excited to be working with to turn the ‘Wider Impacts of Humanitarian shelter and settlements assistance’ into online training for to share with their Members. So important to bring research to life and think beyond the pdf!

Really enjoyed reading reflection on the rise of ‘shelter self- recovery’ in humanitarian policy and practice. So helpful to trace the origins of ideas, and see how they’ve grown…
