Can you explain how reducing fuel efficiency standards results in pollution reduction?

I believe the argument goes like this: we won't be able to afford to drive as much, thus pollution will naturally be reduced

Actually the fuel economy standards are uniquely crafted to save people on fuel costs no matter what size vehicle they buy, and are achievable with existing technology. Why don’t you fix something that is actually broke, like the Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS)?

Uniquely crafted by morons who were brainwashed from birth to tear down America so we would be weak enough for globalism to plant its flag across the entire surface of the planet perhaps. Although I agree RFS needs to be overhauled completely.

The problem with Biofuels for Diesel engines are not compatible with any of the EPA mandated aftertreatment systems. All over the road Diesels require ultra low sulfur fuel if not the Aftertreatment system burns out it catalyst. So either its either biofuel or emission regulation

Biofuels I really don't have a problem with just because you can make it yourself. I know a few who make bio diesel and I can say it's not all that environmentally friendly as people think it's just cheaper fuel.

I will not buy a car that doesn’t meet the previously planned, higher standards. I’ll keep driving my current Chevy Cruze if carmakers don’t continue improving efficiency and emissions. #CleanerCars I hope others join me in this pledge.
