@matthewisles@EPA@ENERGY how much of that#MPG jump is from electric cars? My@iMitsubishi#EV usually gets >130#MPGe around Seattle -
@sleepylemur@EPA@ENERGY@iMitsubishi I think the numbers represent fleet averages, and therefore would include electrics -
@matthewisles this is why#MPGe is a bit of a scam; It lets@EPA and@ENERGY lie with statistics. Emissions vary with EV, all less than gas. -
@matthewisles@EPA@ENERGY ~130 MPGe in Seattle isn't equivalent emissions to similar driving & charging on@PSEtalk's grid: 1/2 thermal gen -
@matthewisles@EPA@ENERGY the same car on the east coast would have higher CO2 per distance driven, but still less than a gasoline car. -
.
@matthewisles@EPA@ENERGY this is why we need a#CarbonTax! If people were paying for the carbon they emit, they'd _pay_ attention to it! -
@sleepylemur@EPA@ENERGY I'm okay with a carbon tax as long as it's not regressive and isn't used as a poison pill for social programs.
