ACIP is having their meeting now discussing myocarditis. These slides I think are the upshot (I cheated and skipped ahead of the part they were discussing):pic.twitter.com/K4nR0I6q9H

So in short, while there does appear to be a small but real risk of myocarditis with these vaccines, particularly the second dose in younger males, relative to the potential harms of COVID-19, the benefits exceed the risks.

Right now there isn't an alternative to mRNA vaccination for the pediatric population, and it will take time for us to get to a point where there is one. In the interim, we have to consider whether or not benefits > risks. The math suggests they are.pic.twitter.com/xJGjUNaVGE

These numbers may change as the situation evolves and as more cases are reported but for now, based on the best available evidence, benefits definitely exceed risks.

Also anecdotal definitely but I am a 23-year-old male who received 2 doses of the Pfizer vaccine 3 weeks apart with several risk factors for myocarditis and I literally didn't have anything other than arm soreness and deeper sleep for a few days.

This risk may be real, but it's still very rare. Here is what is being looked for in a myocarditis diagnosis:pic.twitter.com/cERW2QPozz

Amazing I thought this was a taboo subject and there was a widespread media blackout. How did you come upon this super secret hidden information? (sarcasm font on).

There was no media blackout. The issue has been covered, meetings were held and the data was delivered.
