So in short, while there does appear to be a small but real risk of myocarditis with these vaccines, particularly the second dose in younger males, relative to the potential harms of COVID-19, the benefits exceed the risks.

Right now there isn't an alternative to mRNA vaccination for the pediatric population, and it will take time for us to get to a point where there is one. In the interim, we have to consider whether or not benefits > risks. The math suggests they are.pic.twitter.com/xJGjUNaVGE

These numbers may change as the situation evolves and as more cases are reported but for now, based on the best available evidence, benefits definitely exceed risks.

Also anecdotal definitely but I am a 23-year-old male who received 2 doses of the Pfizer vaccine 3 weeks apart with several risk factors for myocarditis and I literally didn't have anything other than arm soreness and deeper sleep for a few days.
