        It catalyzes both reactions. It makes DHF from folic acid and makes THF from DHF

        That's the gist yes. But also there are some cool parts to it. Like overconsumption of folate is basically benign but it can correct B12 deficiency-associated anemia but not neurological damage so it can mask B12 deficiency which is the principal danger.
