The main thing I encounter is “it’s a respiratory disease” if people knew all the systems it can affect maybe that would help? I did find a paper but it was technical & apparently the bmj is a political organisation (who knew)

I mean it's primarily a respiratory infection as we think of it but I fail to grasp how in any way that makes it less serious do people not get how important gas exchange is

I'm always interested in knowing what rule-of-thumb multiplier gives the best estimate of the true infected % from the tested-positive %. And can you say a few words about how this multiplier has changed over the course of the pandemic?

oof that's a bit outside my area of expertise. I was thinking more like the immunology side of it. I can do basic epidemiology but I prefer to leave the real stuff to the experts
