He used the Biblical definition, Jones, which is in Zachariah 1:1 and Ezeikel 1:1. Related to the word that God spoke in Genesis as well. It is biblical and not hellenic.

Does St. John use "Logos" for God after verse 14 when "the Logos became flesh"? After the Incarnation Logos is not preached, but Jesus Christ, "For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). You're going backwards.
