You are a lot smarter & more diligent than I am so I know you are able to grasp the full meaning of the Greek words “artios,” “exartizo,” & “pas agathos ergon.” 2 Tim 3 of course isn’t the only passage supporting
#SolaScriptura. There’s John 8:31-32, Acts 20:32, 1 Peter 2:2 etc -
What scripture was Paul referring to? Couldn't have been our canon, it didn't exist when I and II Timothy were published. As a Catholic I can explain the sequence and development. Can a non-Catholic?
-
Please let us all agree that the NT cannon was completed before the Apostles died & probably before 70AD.Certainly all of St. Paul’s writings were completed before 70AD.The Council of Carthage did a great service for subsequent generations but only affirmed what was already known
-
I agree that the NT was complete by 70AD. But those letters and gspls weren't compiled into a single source for quite awhile later. What was already known? By whom?
-
From the time of the Apostles the authoritative, inspired New Covenant writings were known, & the Patrices confirmed that the NT Scriptures continued to be recognized & spurious writings rejected. Origen quoted directly from 2/3 of the NT in his writings that are known to us.pic.twitter.com/HeOW120OlN

Muratorian Fragment?
-
If faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17), and if we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8), don’t you think the Lord would have been careful to preserve His Word for each & every generation after the Apostles were no longer in this world?
-
Yeah he did. He chose Rome.
