Sam, you're right. Both Ken Grauer and I were on the fence about it, but he did an ingenious re-arrangement that shows the leads in the correct configuration. Here it is.

Watch this INCREDIBLE video showing hemopericardium on autopsy. The myocardial wall is injured causing blood to leak into the pericardial space and literally smother the heart. This is exactly how Hemorrhagic Tamponade kills!

Asthma is still a killer in 2020 but thanks to Sam Ghali, M.D. dealing with cases like this we can learn to adapt our practise to deliver the definitive gold standard of care. Don’t let Asthma be a Silent killer, lets make it loud. Thank you Sam Ghali M.D.

Here are some great teaching Echos of various patients I have taken care of with Hemorrhagic Tamponade. They depict the different etiologies nicely so I made them into this educational GIF

Watch this clip of a patient in Cardiac Arrest getting CPR leading up to a Pulse Check If you’re gonna use Echo in Arrest get a Subcostal View DURING chest compressions so your view is already there and you don’t waste time looking for one AT the pulse check!

Answer: There are atrial waves that mimic A flutter but they are coarse & irregular. None of them conduct down the AV Node and the QRS complexes are regular and narrow at ~45 bpm. This is Coarse Atrial Fibrillation with Complete Heart Block + Junctional Escape Rhythm!

Here’s an Echo of a man who was in persistent PEA after multiple rounds of CPR per ACLS You can see his heart collapsing and struggling to beat as it is being smothered by surrounding fluid. This is Pericardial Tamponade! <thread>
