This is what peaceful protest looks like. Those who joined the Women’s March on Jan. 21, 2017 were determined, peaceful and law-abiding. They warned about the dangers of Donald Trump’s extremism. They were right. And we see the culmination of Trump’s incendiary selfishness today.pic.twitter.com/L540xn6hYC

We also see how differently a certain demographic group is treated when they behave violently. If these were people of color, they'd have the tear gas and batons and rubber bullets and the tasers fired up. AND THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER.

Women and men! My husband marched by my side. The most peaceful, uplifting day. That is democracy. That is America.

I was there too, and even though we were protesting the Trump presidency, I left feeling so overwhelmed with the love and companionship of the day.

It was one of the most memorable and best experiences of my life. I felt so much love and respect that day. We came together for a common cause.
