i thought the whole spiel was if we want privacy we need to pay for it (eg: when ppl complain about FB's practices, we were reminded we don't pay for FB) now even if we purchase things they track us? what's the excuse this time?pic.twitter.com/FaD8H0emhs

This is why I don't want my appliances connecting to internet. No, my fridge doesn't need a firmware update. Facebook doesn't need to know the usage data on my light bulbs.

and it's infuriating because, like I would like to have appliances that could send me updates like "hey your dishes are clean come gettem", or lights I could control from my phone. and if I want it I get to give up all my info! to random companies I don't even know!
