I wonder if it would be helpful to share some of the previous research that supports this spatial mode of working. Maybe Bruno Latour's research on scientific life or Hutchins' "Cognition in the Wild".

Reminds me of the social aspect of pair programming that I always liked, but rarely got to. And it’s so limited with the one fixed screen. Probably why no one regularly does it.

I’d love to use this to develop information systems (“servers”), having the flow and components spatially organized on the table. Would need some way to turn off the viz in production, as well as select what code to “show”, assuming it would be too much for a full system.
