    Artsy types, what’s a decent ecommerce platform for arts and crafts these days? I don’t want to make a shop from scratch for the weaving stuff, but Etsy is on quite the downwards trajectory so not too keen on that either. (Plz RT, yada yada)

    Looking at job titles & descriptions on SO is so incredibly overwhelming and makes me feel very inferior.. i've done so much but I feel like that odd middle piece of the puzzle that doesn't fit anywhere. How do people find what kind of tech they want to work with?? :/

    We have been trained to think consumer software is free, and that the developers are paid by ✨magic✨. So much so, we don’t pay for anything. 99% of the time: this is someone’s hobby project or you are paying with something other than money 💰 We all need to make a living.

    Maybe eventually I'll get a job that brings me a bit of joy, working for myself or for a company doing programming I truly enjoy. But what really matters is the experiences we have outside of that together.

    We are still in debt, we are working on it but bills and sick dogs on a single income always adds up. But we are happy. Incredibly happy. We have an amazing life together, and we now live in a forest, on a different province!

    We sold our house in Ontario, used the money from that to pay off all of the vet bills we had and used the rest to move across the country to New Brunswick. We are not wealthy in any monetary sense. I make just enough to pay the bills right now.

    Sitting outside in our backyard this morning and I just got an overwhelming happy feeling. Everything we've done and how far we've come has been worth it. We've been so incredibly busy and stressed the last 6 months, barely any time for ourselves.

    It's still exciting to walk out of our home every morning and be surrounded by a forest. I don't think this will ever get old. Eventually we'll probably just buy an entire forest and live in the middle of it in a tiny shack.
