Every year there are vastly more injuries and fatalities associated with school playgrounds than with guns. #Context And no “national” anything. Thanks.

This stat is very incorrect. There were 47 deaths between 2001-2008 on playgrounds, According to the CDC....There are over 9,000 deaths attributed to guns every year.

How about some context. There are not 9000 gun related deaths on school campuses. And btw: according to the CDC there are over 200,000 injuries and double digit deaths associated with playgrounds EVERY year. Guns are not an issue.

Ok, but your original statement said more playground deaths. Define injury...cut, scrape? Guns are an issue, part of an issue....not the only issue, but a big part

Again, context: There are over 140,000 campuses and more than 50 million students across 50 States. Statistically playgrounds are more of an issue than guns. Guns are not only a non-issue, they are none of the federal’s business.

So your answer to mass school shootings is... ban playgrounds...makes sense. Gun control, safer, more protected schools, better mental health care..non issues... playgrounds, those fields of death, are the issues....

I make a comparison to playground data and I obviously want playgrounds banned. So if I don’t want an unconstitutional socialized healthcare system, so I must hate children and old people, right? Good grief...

What would your solutions for safer schools, less or no school shootings be? And I think this topic is getting tougher to control due to copy cat/ celebrity status thoughts of the killers...

Getting the federal government out of education would be a start, and allowing qualified staff to carry if they so choose would be a great addition. *Public schools are not intended to be mental healthcare treatment centers and are not responsible for raising children.

I agree with this, except I would like to see extra police in schools vs armed teachers. This is based on the teachers I know in our school system, and differs from others. I disagree that it is all a mental health issue. It is a multi problem issue. Guns included.

The day armed agents of the government are allowed inside a school is the day we become the 21st century Weimar. Not no, but hell no to that idea. Nothing like conditioning children to think that is OK. It’s definitely not. Guns are not the issue, period.
