@DwayneStovall I mean the Amendment as written should deter unreasonable searches. Implied consent (as at airports) renders it ineffective.
@jdruva41 But consent at airports is not implied; it is forced.

@DwayneStovall The idea is that if you fly, you consent to be searched. You don't have to be searched but you don't have to fly either. -
@jdruva41 Oh yes. The "if you want to fish without going to jail, you will purchase a permit" kind of consent. As you say, it's an "idea".
