Alex, Dwayne is correct about the Bill of Rights. It is only applied to the federal government. The idea that the BoR was incorporated is a Progressive myth.

Unless you or anyone else here can point to which piece of Progressive philosophy this point of view correlates to, then please stop using the word Progressive, because you don't understand what it means.

Amendment 10 The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. It's not "progressive" to amend the Constitution.pic.twitter.com/2GZGdHd4nr

While advocating for the 14A, one of the authors gave a speech telling his constituents that the 14A would have no impact on their lives. Totally goes against much of the arguments for incorporation that started during the 1920s.

Cool story, but someone's opinion about it doesn't detract from the words actually written in law, which clearly protect Natural Rights from State tyranny. This is inarguable!

Seel, it would appear these fools are progressives hoping to abridge the Bill of Rights at the state level, as though state ratification of these rights could be waved away at will, without the rigorous debate and votes that placed them into law.

Alex, you are clueless about both Originalism and Progressivism. How can you accuse those who believe in decentralized authority as progressive? Well, you can't.

I said I support states rights, Lefty, but the states exercised their rights when they ratified the constitution and the bill of rights. It's progressive to interpret the constitution to allow the bill of rights to be infringed after the fact. That's not clueless, you are.

Yes & you hate children and old people. Good grief, you are dense. Ever heard of Raoul Berger? The man spent his life studying the very subject you blather nonsense about. Try reading “Government by Judiciary” and begin the process of becoming the originalist you pretend to be.

No, I oppose the oligarchy of the courts, and suppor states' rights, which you can easily read in my earlier tweets. However, I don't accept the notion that the rights our founding fathers codified may be abridged by the states, and it was not their intent that they should be.
