It's common, as Henry described in 1788, to use the term State to refer to the citizens of a State. The States are sovereign, meaning the citizens of a State hold ultimate decision making power for their State. Thinking the fed is sovereign is authoritarian. You lack logic.

Ales, so, I again suggest, research the ratifying conventions is where Madison said that future generations need to look when understanding how the constitution needs to be interpreted.

I interpret the Constitution by Original intent, you do whatever pleases you, but it's incorrect to suggest that applying the meaning understood by those who wrote and ratified the Bill of Rights is 'progressive' or 'flawed.' Go back to school, Lefty.

Alex, Dwayne is correct about the Bill of Rights. It is only applied to the federal government. The idea that the BoR was incorporated is a Progressive myth.

Alex, not sure if I agree with him in his point number 6 since there were founders who did believe it was immoral to place debt on future generations. Jefferson spoke out against this and Hamilton insisted of paying the Revolutionary War off a quickly as possible.

Actually, Hamilton objected in "The Examination, Number III" to Jefferson's/Gallatin's plan to extinguish the debt as soon as practicable.

Alex In his point 3, I do agree with him which contradicts what you previous said. He talks about how it forbade a creation of a national church. There were states with sanction churches which was constitutional.

Alex, I did say study the ratifying conventions. Problem 1, his use of the word "National" government. From an original perspective, we don't have a national government like France. We have a federal system. States are still sovereign entities.
