79% of all suicides in the United States are men. Men endure an enormous amount of pressure to live up to an unrealistic and unbiblical standard. Be aware church, your men will define themselves by the culture or by Christ. Make sure we are not confusing the two.

Sinclair Ferguson’s 4 principles for the exercise of Christian liberty: 1. Liberty must never be flaunted. 2. Does't mean you welcome fellow Christians only when you have sorted out their views. 3. Never become a stumbling block. 4. Above all, please Christ.

You don’t need to earn God’s love. You don’t need to seek God’s love. You don’t need to work for God’s love. In Christ, God couldn’t love you more.

5 things I would tell my 16-year-old self: 1. Ministry will be hard, persevere. 2. Pray may be drudgery, endure. 3. Sin will haunt you, kill. 4. Joy may elude you, fight. 5. Christ will always love you, rejoice.

Rather than seeking revelations, visions, dreams, experiences, signs, and wonders, Christians need only to study and obey what they already have — the Bible.

The Lord saved me as a young boy. I didn't know how to explain depravity, define justification, or how exactly grace came to me. But, I knew I was a sinner and needed Jesus. Childlike faith is beautiful — trusting, joyful, accepting.

America is an idea, not a promise. Let us love our neighbors, protect the unborn, work hard, defend liberty, worship freely, and cherish freedom.

Moses before Pharaoh, Elijah before Jezebel, John the Baptist before Herod, Jesus before Pilate, Peter before the Sanhedrin, Paul before Festus ... We serve God rather than men!

"This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God" (1 Cor 4:1). "Servants" (huperetes): third-tier under-rower on a galley ship. No matter how gifted, eloquent, intellectual we may be, we're just third-tier under-rower galley slaves.

Today, in 1555, English Reformer John Rogers was burned at the stake. He was offered a pardon if he would only recant his beliefs and return to the Roman Catholic church. He refused. He was the first Protestant martyr under the reign of "Bloody Mary." His blood still cries out.

Scripture does not "come alive" when you twist it to say what you desire to hear. Scripture comes alive when our lives are conformed to it.

I’m desperately thankful that my hope and assurance are not based upon how I feel from day to day. Today, I’ve doubted. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness!

Islam: good deeds outweigh bad. Buddhism: living in the right manner. Confucianism: appropriate behavior. Jainism: cleansed through works. Mormonism: extra-grace works. Christianity is the only religion that teaches man can do nothing to earn or pay his way into heaven.

None of us are experts in the company of Jesus. We're all sinners. We're all followers. We're all students. We're all dust.

Increasingly, the Christian life is measured by how busy we are in “kingdom work.” Kingdom work is more about being still, knowing, trusting, loving, waiting, and adoring.

Why are we shocked when the world acts like, sings like, and dances like the world? An excellent reminder that Christians are sojourners, and we’re just passing through.

What I want on Sunday morning is to hear a Word from God. I don’t want to hear the preachers latest hobby, his therapeutic sermon, or his pop theology, I want to hear the Word of God. R.C. Sproul
