I have just received Draft #4 of the DUNE screenplay from Legendary Pictures. This is for the first movie, covering approximately half of the novel DUNE. I'm very excited and pleased about this, and I'm beginning to burn the midnight oil.

Yes, I'm the eldest son...😀 You might enjoy the biography I wrote about Frank Herbert, DREAMER OF DUNE. It was a Hugo Award finalist.

Does Denis V. co-written the screenplay with Eric Roth? We're glad to hear your excitement, it definitely makes us feel more reassured and happy..

Looking forward to this! I was a HUGE fan of the Dune series when I was a kid, and was truly annoyed by how the first attempt at a movie completely butchered it. The Sci-Fi channel's adaptation was okay, but lacked big-screen polish. Anyway, hoping for the best!

I know what you're saying about the '84 movie, the things that were added and the diversion from the plot. But the movie still has some really good aspects -- and over the years the professional ratings of it have improved dramatically.

I think that the best way to put this masterpiece on film is with a CGI series. Not necessarily photorealistic, but definitely not cartoonish. Of course it would have to be at least 8 hours long

That would be interesting, but is not the focus right now.

I just hope this adaption of the movie does not completely remove important information like the syfy series did several years back.... I mean how can you not have the red stained lips on the Mentats
