This is fascinating, since EM fungi only represent 2% of (mostly temperate) forests anyway. In the western US, how will rainfall totals and future climate changes affect this progression?

On the East Coast, a recent study of 30 years data showed trees moving away from the coast to the west and north, due to rainfall changes.

I think morels are ecto-like, but don’t fit neatly into either category. But maybe
