    That's why is important! Instead of focusing on criminalizing the work trans women of color are doing to survive in a city that has become increasingly unliveable to Black and brown queer and trans folks, we should invest in: housing and other resources!

    We can't continue to ignore the realities of gendered harassment, gentrification in DC, disparate policing, criminalization of , employment discrimination, school push-out for kids of color and housing instability, and say we care about trans and queer people of color.

    We won't end violence against trans women of color if we don't consider how the state continues to enact violence on Black, brown and Native bodies- particularly trans, queer and non-binary folks. Any violence prevention intervention needs to center these lived experiences.
