I love these “rather odd” ideas from no research, knowledge of history, etc....

-
If you’re trying to defend circumscision, that’s fine. I’m aware it’s very important to certain cultures. I’m just saying let’s leave it up to the individual to make that decision.
-
Dismissing it as strange is the issue. The decision is left up to the parents? Now you want to take important life decision away from parents?
-
Could you elaborate how removing part of a child's penis is an important life decision for parents?
-
Well some parents may believe it to be culturally significant. If they’re Jewish or Catholic, for instance. However, no matter how important it is to them, they should just have to wait and see if they’re kid wants to go through with that later in life.
-
Slight correction in that its of no significance within the Catholic faith. But we agree I think re leaving it to the child, I was mostly prompting the other guy to think a bit deeper; it may be of perceived signif to the parents, the actual consequences are borne by the kid.
-
It could be both, if the parent believe it’s their responsibility to do for the kid, it would be shared consequence. Parental “mistakes” carry intense weight.
-
How is it a shared consequence for the parents if the child's penis is ruined? (and some consider circumcision to be ruin) What if the mistake is permanent destruction of their penis? It doesn't NEED to be done. Parents can wait for the child to decide.https://apnews.com/6cbd7979405a4a418c5828fe8844fd9b …

There are hundreds of thousands of men who are significantly harmed by their circumcisions, and more are speaking up every day as this issue becomes more public. We’re out there, but many of us are afraid to talk about it.

I think many guys will not admit to other people irl that it bothers them lest they show weakness. For me, it has always bothered me off and on when I thought about it,because I will never know what it feels like to be uncut.
It should have been my choice.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Bear in mind one can be harmed by it but not even know it. I wasn't aware of the harm until I learned more about the procedure.

It is always good to actually see a circumcision because this makes it crystal clear what we are talking about. It is not just a clipping of fingernails. Notice how the baby shit himself because the pain was so severe. Greedy USA medicine banks Two Billion Dollars every year.pic.twitter.com/sfaajCnEwx

I've seen cases where surgeons performed it even without parents permission and lost court cases for assault
-
Here are 50 such cases http://circumstitions.com/coerce.html some narrow escapes, and more where parents were nagged and browbeaten to do it.
