  3. Adolescent and young adult girls do not get enough exercise. In young adult African American girls only 45% exercised. Time to address barriers to exercise!

  7. As a young psychotherapist, I recall doing a presentation for child protective service workers entitled “Why are abused children so difficult to like?” The fact that trauma often leads to ‘acting out’ and other psychological issues is too often overlooked & needs to be taught!

    Each time I was seen with a non academic book in my hand (mostly gifted by my dad), I would get a long lecture by others around me that how I was wasting my time and how novels put not-so-decent thoughts in کچا ذہن 🧠

    Moral panic around phone/social media use is not new. Previous generations had similar outrage, against new ‘technology’. For example 18th century backlash against novels as coddling the brain, giving inappropriate ideas, and wasting productive time.

    This is especially true for children who have been mentally abused. They may be irritable, lash out, hide, be shy, cry often, fight often. Give them time to heal and lots of support.

    10 more children in the U.S. have died in the last week from influenza. TEN CHILDREN in one week! This is why we will continue to recommend that everyone protects themselves and those they love by getting the flu vaccine every year!

  17. For all winter time upper respiratory viral infections: ✅wash hands b4 eating & when leaving work or school (chance to practice mindfulness:breath in 2 out 5!). ✅ aim fir lights out at 10 pm (adjust for shift work (at least 8 hr lights out) ✅H2O
