In Montreal in 1969, the police went on strike. Within hours, there was looting, bank robberies and arson, so the Mounties and the Canadian Army were called in.

It must be terrifying to live in your head, assuming everyone is super violent and only “following rules” because the threat of state violence. Unless you’re giving something away about what you would do if you wouldn’t face consequences.

Not everyone, but a significant minority who would loot, burn and assault if they are not stopped, as we saw in the last few days all over the US.
