    Is there anything more democratic than corporations deciding they’d like to ? Meanwhile, culture secretary remains completely useless on supporting freelancers and live music - venues in UK and artists who tour Europe post-Brexit need help ASAP!

    Not sure it quite compares with proroguing Parliament.

    It’s easy to get caught up in the double standards of super-spreader events our populist UK government allow to go ahead (notably with vaccine passports!) Here’s a reminder of the reality of

    Visiting a dear friend today, whose partner (37, fit as a fiddle, no underlying health complaints, 1 vacc) is in intensive care with the new variant. I’d like a proper summer, too, but we do still need to be cautious. Tests available here:

    * = live music stat is from 2019. The entire music industry is worth £5.2 billion to the UK economy, however it’s worth noting how central live music is to that. The next economic report will likely show a far reaching catastrophe

    Saw Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore in the balcony when Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood performed at the Limelight on 1995. At the end of the show Nancy thanked the famous folks in the balcony (her brother Frank Jr. was there). She said, “Thank you to Kim Gordon…and her husband!”
