“The things I did while in elected office should not be made public while I am seeking a higher public office” is not an argument that makes any sense.https://twitter.com/tomselliott/status/1256199505017528320 …

Also mother of God people I’m paraphrasing but if you don’t think this captures the spirit of the argument he’s making I can’t help you.

It shouldn’t be even slightly controversial that what someone does while in elected office - including potential violations - should remain on the public record. And that record is even more important than ever when that official is running for the highest office in the world.

For what it’s worth, I also think Trump should release his tax returns. But it’s silly to suggest that his personal documents as a private businessman should be treated the same as potentially illegal or illicit activity of A PUBLIC SERVANT WHILE IN OFFICE.

Dude. It's Biden. None of it makes any sense.

The media will compare hiding Biden’s records to Trump not releasing all of his files as a private businessman. And ignore the fact that Biden was a public official.
