Artificial intelligence behind ChatGPT, autonomous vehicles, etc. doesn't just "happen" - it requires huge amounts of energy and carbon emissions to do all that complex computing

It took a lot of effort for Rivian to let me behind closed doors, but I finally got invited to their Chicago Service Center. If you're seeing more trucks/SUVs on the road than ever, here's how it's happening.

"Today, it’s a given that there will be fewer gas cars on the road tomorrow, perhaps barely any. That means people can start asking a much more interesting question: Should conventional cars be replaced at all?" Nice work
"No, it's not that it's going to take our jobs...AI can't draw intelligent conclusions about trends or history that haven't been drawn before. That's a huge part of what writers do....It's also disrespectful to readers."
EVs will work for everyone in the sense they will go from point A to point B (in style). But in reality, they still aren't the BEST choice for all lifestyles. Check out my biggest learnings from driving one around Chicago for a month.

Volvo C40 out here modeling it’s wheels, winning the award for best backup cam. But the Electrify America station said 150kW charging rate, yet the text I got after said it peaked at 57kW. Anyone know why that would be so much lower? Am I reading wrong?

Found a nice spot to sit at Rivian today. Every vehicle needs a “frunk,” a trunk in the front where the gas engine used to sit! #ElectricVehicles

My baby's cancer may have returned and my insurance, , is refusing to help cover a PET scan so we can find out if it has, and if needed, continue our work to save his life. No qualms about putting my child's life on the line for their bottom line. He is not even 2 years old

"Phasing out the sale of new electric vehicles in Wyoming by 2035," the bill said, "will ensure the stability of Wyoming's oil and gas industry and will help preserve the country's critical minerals for vital purposes."

With just 3-4 miles of electric range, the new Corvette embodies the tension between pushing for emissions-free vehicles and those who'd prefer to ban EVs altogether than see a Corvette with no gas engine.

How would you feel if a heavy EV crashed into your car and made more damage than usual - or worse? The head of traffic safety in the US is raising the alarm that ultra-heavy EV batteries are a safety concern for everyone on the road. Read more here:

Got good look at OshKosh US Post Office delivery EV. It is somehow uglier in person but seems highly functional. I'm sure buying a bunch of Ford E-Transits would be way too easy and inexpensive for DeJoy's administration.
