I don't get the pure arrogance of my parents' generation when it comes to Covid. I don't get the attitude of churches that bc they're breaking social distancing or whatever ~for God~ they're somehow immune to virus transmission or whatever bad shit happens.

God isn't going to magically make the virus disappear bc you were practicing Christmas music. God isn't going to stop the virus from infecting your body and making you sick because you were in a special fancy Jesus building.

Worse, if you're practicing that arrogance and then being dishonest about it--making people think that you're being safe when you're actually putting yourself at risk, and then OOPS, you got exposed?--that's extraordinarily shitty, and you should be ashamed.

(context: my dad was apparently practicing Christmas music a few days before Christmas, did not wear a mask, and one of the other musicians just got diagnosed with Covid. We thought my dad was being safe, so we saw him on Christmas Eve, Christmas, and yesterday. Unmasked)
