imo don't fixate on whether or not a character idea is "lore compliant" and instead fixate on how well they will mesh into the stories of the people with whom you want to RP. your character is the main character in their own story but the supporting cast in someone else's!
and this goes for meeting new characters too! my fav example is the time a walkup paladin told oliver she used to be a DK too but jumped in the sunwell and became alive again. I just had to excuse myself. you can break lore without undermining peoples concepts!
