I know it's SUPER tempting to draw the sunwell = sun = melanin conclusion to "justify" it but it doesn't NEED justification, there IS no science, WoW evolution is magic mutation and not adaptation. nelves have pale near-white to deep, dark plum tones and no one gives a shit why.

My favorite response to this thing was when I was trying to describe what was going on with Shadowlands and people being mad at how dark skin tones are being applied to what are basically sun elves. He had the galaxy brain thought: Wait, shouldn't they all be dark skinned then?
