i did like the idea of naming the All-Star game MVP trophy after him as a starting point.

This one makes the most sense. He was the only guy who took that game seriously. And maybe the games will be more fun if everyone tries hard to win the Kobe award.

No better options? Magic and/or Bird for reviving the league in the 80’s? MJ for taking it global in the 90’s? There were better options to replace West when Kobe was alive. His death doesn’t change that.

Even retiring 8 AND 24 LEAGUE wide seems a bit much. Where do we draw the line? Should we do this when Jordan dies? Russell? What if lebron or Steph die young too?

The reason I'm for this is because Jerry himself doesn't want to be the logo. I think Kobe would be the perfect replacement.
