In Eisenhower's decade the rich were paying between 55 and up to 75% in taxes. They were still rich enough for the next 10 of their generations and the country thrived. This is all, "greed is good" "voodoo" Reagan economics at work.

I remember THAT America! Born in UK '54, all things America amazed me, plus had American relatives. It was moving forward so fast & positively influencing the world. Despite a few major "roadbumps" during past decades these last 3 years seem to be "regression in fast forward".

It wasn't a perfect world, but it was a heck of a lot nicer than the current "I've got mine, to H*$L with the rest of you" mentality that exists in the US and other countries now.

It wasn't perfect but people also didn't want to take assistance from the government so they'd actually get out and get a job they can earn more money A-Day than the government would give them So if you wanted more you could go get it but now if you'd go get it you're penalized
