Study from Imperial team on #COVID19 epidemic in Europe. ▶️ more cases than reported, likely 12-15 million infected (3-4% of population); ▶️ insufficient for herd immunity; ▶️ epidemic not over; ▶️ interventions effective, 3.1 million deaths prevented. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2405-7 …pic.twitter.com/93AbOYRq10

effective intervention please , based on a science basement. Means if we know (today) that 95% of infections happens inside , 95% of interventions should work ... on inside situations. @c_drosten @Karl_Lauterbach ?

0.85% for germany means there could/should be about 705.000 (post-)infections. In this scenario only 1 of 4 cases is detected. This calculation corresponds to the "high" mortality rate published by Robert-Koch-Institute, which is 4-5 times higher then the estimated mortality.

Redid the math on that infection rates with real population & fatalilty values. Interesting. Germany: 83,149,300 population 0.85% infected 706,769 infected 8,783 dead ~1.24% mortality France: 66,993,000 population 3.4% infected 2,277,762 infected 29,209 Dead ~1.28% mortality
