Again, I dislike opioids as much as the next doc, but you can't eliminate one whole category of pain control. "Sorry, we're not doing NSAIDs anymore."

Can you share a link to what it actually says? I have just moved and have to find a doctor to prescribe pain meds. I have complex regional pain syndrome in both legs and scoliosis with Harrington rod spinal fusion and every vertebrae that has not been fused is herniated and hurts
-
Did you know that I am frequently told by new physicians that it is impossible to be fused c3 to c6 and t1 to l1?! I have shown them my scars to interrupt their lecture telling me I am wrong! I generally get dressed and go home, ama, after telling them that I am an expert on me!

Let’s be honest here. My dad was prescribed only Tylenol for end stage bone cancer. These ridiculous rules will be applied to cancer patients, too.

I’m so sorry :(

Ugh, too true. I had a toenail removed, told the doctor "hey I'm really sensitive to pain and nsaids don't work on me," he gives me nothing and I wind up in so much pain I couldn't walk. Then he got offended when I said he doesn't manage my pain.

Had a new pt last week (new to pain specialist NOT new to opioids) who was refused more than 7 days of her 30 day script. WE cut her from Oxy and Hydrocodone to just Hydrocodone. Insurance cold turkeyed her. Well played CDC, not.

100%IU MARINE: recently called the VA WH HOTLINE. Relayed urgency:need for opioid therapy due to current ongoing stroke & brain bleed symptoms. Forced tapered. Denied meds & treatment. Was told Congress directed VA to deny Chronic Illness Veteran Pain MGT therapy. Not expendable
