  1. Over 230k people die from every year & it is among the top 10 leading causes of death for children aged 5 to 14 years. Each death is a tragedy for a family, community and nation. This resolution is an important step towards a safer, fairer, & healthier world.

  2. Good news - Member States adopted a resolution committing to greater efforts to prevent . The resolution also establishes 25 July as World Drowning Prevention Day to raise awareness & share solutions to improve water safety & save lives.
