Health for all is a real possibility for Africa. The fundamentals are not there to enable this reality. African Unity is the primary condition. United Africa is the giant the world has been waiting for. One people. One vision. One currency. The dream of Nkrumah. Nyerere. Garvey.
Universal health coverage is a political choice. I call on all leaders to make that choice at #UNGA next week!

It is true UHC is political choice, just like HFA of which many of Leaders especially in Africa have refused to do since 1978 after Alma-Atta conference. They will go to Geneva, talk, eat, sleep and come back home to continue sleeping.

Totally agree but it will need a concomitant call to stop rich countries especially UK endlessly recruiting large numbers of health workers from low and middle income countries, thereby greatly weakening health systems in LAMIC, with consequent increased morbidity and mortality

sure .. but ignore that the average malaria infection rates per year in some countries like Uganda are 40% and in some parts of the country approach 85% .. you are not going to do much about life style choices like drinking a liter of sugar soda a day that contributes to diabetes
