Following the spread of #Ebola to #Uganda from #DRC, I am reconvening the IHR Emergency Committee on 14 June in Geneva to ascertain whether the outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern. Bro, ‘whether the outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern’? Seriously? I’m not an expert in public health, but this wording is troubling if only from a communications/sensitivity standpoint. Please do better.

PHEIC or 'public health emergency of international concern' is a term used in the IHR or International Health Regulations (law guiding international outbreak response). I can see how it might sound like no PHEIC = no need for international community to care though. Good point.
