World Cancer Day really is resonating with me this year. I've noticed a major paradigm shift and am being asked to discuss fertility preservation for young patients at the start of their journey - it's normalized now. That's wonderful.

A decade after the vaccine programme was introduced, studies are showing the very real benefits it is starting to show in terms of bringing down HPV infection levels worldwide, in both women and men.

Cancer is financially toxic in the US unlike almost anywhere else. Cancer patients have almost triple the rate of bankruptcies of others the same age. And those who go bankrupt have a higher death rate.

Gina With careful case selection and appropriate discussion - progesterone seems to be safe and to offer hope. Women and families are stressed to the max by bleeding. Progesterone is readily available. It should take off quickly if the colleges swing in behind it.

Is surgery fun? I'm conflicted on this. There's absolutely no doubt that having the skill to open someone's body, fix things, then close again is such an awesomely satisfying thing. But it takes literally decades to master. Fun? Hmnnn...😷

...and after lots of gloomy climate, fire, and Coronavirus news, there's been great news! Quality studies show... 1. Progesterone reduces the risk of miscarriage if bleeding occurs. 2. Aspirin reduces the risk of premature birth.

I'm in the studio at Canberra radio this morning at 10 o'clock talking if you want the latest. With school starting for Canberra kids tomorrow I know there's a lot of anxiety in parents.

The has published its fire spread prediction for Saturday 1 February. It's a confronting image. Activate your Bushfire Survival Plan if you're in those areas east of the ACT. Whether you're in the ACT or NSW, if you can hear 666AM, we'll be broadcasting updates for you.

I'm working in both IVF and maternity this morning in Canberra... in the State of Emergency. Safely bringing the next generation of Australians into this world. Do we want to passively accept the future? Or, as parents, do we want to shape it for our kids?
