The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen. There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays.
Sorry. LK 1 26:38 states clearly that the angel communicated God's plan for Mary and in verse 38 she agreed. Whether you believe or disbelieve, it helps if you actually read the text.
The biblical god regularly punished disobedience. The power difference (deity vs mortal) and the potential for violence for saying “no” negates her “yes.” To put someone in this position is an unethical abuse of power at best and grossly predatory at worst.
Disobedience is a break in the relationship with God. This brings repeated disaster to the Israelites-social upheaval, exile, etc. God never forced a relationship, He only warns of the consequences humanity will bring upon itself by this break. Notable is God always forgives.
The N.T. intensifies this, the penalty is still the lack of a relationship, not God punishing those not wanting a relationship, but nowhere does Jesus ever punish anyone who refuses to follow Him, rebuking those who call on Him to do so.
Keep twisting logic to justify your disbelief. Submission to Gods will as opposed to pursuit of self-love will not make sense to you as long as you don’t want it to.
