That's remarkable, as solar costs have plummeted since deployments peaked in Spain, Germany, and Italy.

Yep, shows markets driven by short-lived subsidy schemes… Q is are we coming out of that era into steadier, subsidy-free deployment. (at least, that's the Q for the piece I'm writing!)

What is the y-axis? New solar capacity in GWh? Only PV or also thermal? Residential, commercial, power plants, everything?
-
MW of PV added per year

Yip, very unfortunate... but
@SolarPowerEU can see the low levels could very quickly recover if EU countries get back on board...pic.twitter.com/mURwuGcwyl

Need banks or govt to offer low % loans on PV for domestic users, and incentivise storage. Cheaper than building new power plants, and you actually make money AND create jobs.....?
-
You’re still gonna need new power plants for everything that’s not households, and solar won’t cover the need.

Seems impressive. But wait - you mention 'deployment', but deliberately forget to mention solar operates at a pathetic 2% Capacity Factor (in GB) during month of greatest demand.
