This handy graphic from @DONGEnergyUK explains why offshore wind prices vary in UK vs DE vs DK/NL – it's about who pays for grid / cablespic.twitter.com/pYw9QA8LPT

Great graphic. Does this mean higher network charges in those countries?

Think not? Recent @theCCCuk report said UK network charges higher than other EU & they didn't know why.https://www.carbonbrief.org/uk-energy-bills-have-fallen-since-2008-ccc …

And moreover NL pays for all site research and development and delivers free building license. Reports in English http://bit.ly/2qRZBoL

Still not sure what that means? Who's paying for the grid in DK and DE?

The grid operator, I assume. Anyway not the developer. So the headline price is going to come out lower than in the UK.

Nice graphic, wrong headline. Cost of electricity is the same-consumer pays grid investment either via offshore subsidy or via network charge

Well…I guess I was referring to the prices that are reported by media / govt of $/MWh price for offshorehttps://www.government.nl/latest/news/2016/07/05/netherlands-offshore-wind-farm-borssele-cheapest-world-wide …

Not entirely sure I understand the graphic. Is it saying UK consumer pays all through network charge. Do others have tax funded part?

It's about how much of the grid costs are paid by the developer. All (UK) vs almost none (NL/DK).
