I am struggling to think of one recent ‘eco-effort’ by the government, particularly since the Brexit vote. I can think, however, of LOTS of papers and targets.

Different in tone but similar to “The Government neither recognises the term “ecocide” nor does it intend the suggested concept a criminal offence. There are already strong regulations in place..” - response to parliamentary petition to introduce the crime of Ecocide.
