What is the LCOE of coal when its only running at 20% to 50% Load Factor? Because the market sure as hell doesn't care about "Value adjusted LCOE"
-
People will build Solar Panels if they are cheaper than the power price *when the solar runs* - someone will then build something else for the night, gas recips, batteries, wind farms.

The point is people need power at night too - a car that only works half the time does not have the same value as a car that works all the time; many like to forget this 'inconvenient truth'.
-
Much less power at night though, hence why there is off-peak cheap 'Economy 7' energy at night. http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk

you mean the sun sets at night?!
Solar MWh are (or soon will be) cheaper than coal MWh.
Get over it.
